Privacy Policy

Firsthand needs no account and has no server of ours. We don't collect, sell or share your personal information, and there are no ads or third-party analytics. Here is, item by item, where your data lives and how each permission is used.

Data on your device

Cards, steps, tags, reminders, focus and work widget settings, including the pay you enter, are stored only on your iPhone, for the app and its widgets.

Apple Watch gets what it needs to show through Apple's iPhone–watch connection, not through any server of ours. The work information sent to the watch never includes the amount.

Firsthand doesn't use iCloud sync. Whether your iPhone's own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) include this data depends on your system settings.

Daily backups and export

Every day Firsthand saves a backup to its folder in the Files app, on your device. Exported JSON files go wherever you choose to save or send them.

Permissions (all optional)

  • Notifications: for timely reminders, scheduled on your device.
  • Calendar: read on your device only for Deal around your calendar (Pro), to find today's free time. Event details are never stored or uploaded.
  • Reminders: read only when you choose to move them over. Your original reminders are never changed.
  • Alarms: set on your device only when you choose an alarm for a reminder.
  • Live Activities: show focus and work countdowns in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen. The work amount never appears in a Live Activity.

On-device AI

Break it down (Pro) uses the model on your Apple device. Your card never leaves the device.

Siri, Shortcuts and sharing

What you give Firsthand through Siri, Shortcuts or the share sheet is only written to the deck on your device. Siri's speech processing is handled by Apple under its own privacy policy.

Purchases

Pro is bought through the App Store, and Apple handles the payment. We never see your payment details; Apple only tells the app whether Pro is unlocked.

This website

This is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages, with no cookies, analytics or ads. To keep it secure and running, Cloudflare may process access logs such as IP addresses; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Children

Firsthand isn't directed at children under 13, and it doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
